Subliminalization

I've been playing Yoshi's Island DS lately and I think I might have been sumbliminally affected. The last lil' drawing might infringe on some Nintendo copyrights, in which case I apologize.

However, Nintendo, if these ghosts would stop appearing as quickly as they are eaten they might not have left such a lasting psychological impact.

An Incredible Mistake

Daily Cognition ran a feature today about the top 30 most glaring movie mistakes ever made. (The stormtrooper bumping his head is funny!)

Here's one that I found from Pixar's The Incredibles. I always point this one out to my kids when we watch the movie, to their annoyance.

It's in the scene where Mr. Incredible and Frozone just burst through the wall of a flaming building to find themselves in a jewelery store guarded by a laser alarm, which they promptly set off. Littered on the floor around them are all the people they just rescued from the building:

Bodies everywhere, right? Then a policeman charges in, gun at the ready:

Here's the screw up. For the next couple of scenes the bodies completely vanish…

… but they return again in the end, so, no worries.

At first I thought it was just the camera angle, but, nope, it's a tiny little store, and note the blue curtain behind the single case in the back.

Anyway. Just one of those dumb things that sticks in your craw once you've seen it.

Evolution of Evolution

From blublu, a giant mural picturing evolution from cell to dinosaur, to man and beyond. I like how the bronotsaurus' head goes over the wall to the overpass above. Cool!
