Roundtable: Are we just out of ideas, or what?

It's thursday, time for the blogger's Roundtable. This week i'm yr host.
Think back over the last century. Each decade has such iconic imagery and sound attatched to it. The roaring '20s, the depressing '30s, the war years of the '40s, the suburban paradises of the '50s, etc. Each 10 years seems like a different world from the 10 that preceded it.
So what does this decade, the '00s have going for it? I think we've run out of ideas. It's like the 90's have just been extended for another decade. The music, clothes, movies, everything pop culture is nearly the same. Obviously we've had some major events but the overall feel is really '90s. I guess with some reality TV and iPods thrown in, and the grinding war on terror.
Maybe we've just reached a comfy cultural spot. Or maybe we're so surrounded by constant individualized entertainment that our creative cells are all asleep. Are we all just too busy blogging?
