Less Tacky Fractals

Somewhere along the line fractals got lumped in with potheads, tie dye and the Grateful Dead, but some of these entries to the 2007 Benoit Mandelbrot Fractal Art Contest are unique and aesthetically pleasing. Ah, if Klee had mastered curls... I'm quite fond of The Draughtsman actually, which looks to me like some some sort of futuristic, high tech camouflage design...
