Once again it's Roundtable Thursday...
RW at Chasing Vincenzo wants to know... Just who the #@!! do you think you are?
"How much of you is here now and what would you leave behind if you were somewhere else? What version of you would you have if you started in another worldview where some of the stuff you do now isn't done - or even more - where stuff you don't know about isn't being done now because you simply don't know about it? Would you be an expert at that? Would you love your shaman's cigar as much as your paycheck?"

I'd be raised by wolves, or maybe a couple of really nice Labradoodles. Some of the most open people I've met grew up in smaller cities like Albany or Iowa City. I could leave the city behind. I could leave lots of technology behind, since I've done that already. Actually, technology has left me behind. I would leave my behind behind.
Sometimes I think I inherited an impulse of fearfulness from a family that had real things to fear. But they continued to worry long after the real dangers were past, and I think that fear was transmitted to my generation. I'd leave those fears behind, if I could.
