I guess it's a natural formation of rocks in some geologically exotic locale.
A rock quarry. Similar to ones that cut granite into slabs for use in counter-tops.
close up of some sort of mineral. Can't say what for sure but it looks like the microscopic crystalline structures of minerals like quartz, etc.
It looks like "The devils postpile" in Northern California
Or perhaps the Devil's Popsicle (if only there really was such a place)...

I too say Giant's Causeway, late, but only because I can add that the Matthew Barney experimental movie, Cremaster 3 (or maybe 5) opens with weird action occurring on said Causeway
