Here's a little illusion I made.
Stare at the black dot in the center of this image for 30 seconds.
Without moving your eyes, move your mouse over the image.
The image looks like it's in color, until you move your eyes...

Doesn't work for me at all - soon as I move the mouse over the image it goes black and white. Mind you I'm the same type of person who believes that those 3D pictures (the one with the picture underneath a crzy pattern) are fake. Maybe it's because I'm left-handed and my brain is wired the other way around...
The pictures cheat. The very first time you move the mouse over the image it takes a moment to load the change, whether you've looked at it for 30 seconds, or didn't focus on it at all. No matter how many times you try it afterwards you can't replicate the effect as the image loads instantly.

Wow - very, very cool - it must be the inverted color compensation by your eyes/brain for the white/grey areas in the image.... Truly an interesting and near trick!
here is how it works: the image you look at for 30 seconds remains in your retina for a while. When the image swap, the b&w picture is biased with the first picture colour information.

Very cool! Thank you! As I understood the reason of the illusion is in negative image of the colour photo. Your eyes just remember the negative colours, and then when you see the black and white image, your eyes automatically paste positive colours into the image!

you idiots it's not a fake, it works as it should... also the 3d on crazy pattern is not magic, you just have to see it the right way, then it is like REAL 3d on paper believe it or not... but if you are blind how can i explain colors to you

The image DOES load instantly after the first time but it still works perfectly.

The trick is that when it turns to a black and white image you BELIEVE you are seeing a colour image. Have another go Einstein...

To all who do not understand:
The image is supposed to change color when your mouse goes over it. It turns into black-n-white when your mouse goes over, no? What this is trying to make you think is not that the painting changes from color to black-n-white. No. That was retarded thinking.
What this should do, if you have stared at it for 30+ seconds, is when your mouse goes over it, despite the image turning black-n-white, you will not see it in black-n-white. The moment your mouse goes over the image, the colors will change into the normal colors of the word: the sky being sky blue, grass being green, etc.
After about five seconds it should turn black-n-white again, if you haven't let the cursor drift off the image.
